This dish is simple to make but provides a real taste sensation. The sweetness of the prunes and the saltiness of the bacon complement each other perfectly and make for moreish canapés.

Ingredients

  • 24 pitted prunes
  • 24 bacon slices, cut really thin

Method

  • Pre-heat the oven to 220°C, 200°C fan, Gas Mark 7. Cut the bacon strips in half lengthwise.
  • Lay a strip of bacon on a chopping board and roll round a dried prune.
  • Pierce the bacon prune roll with a toothpick to keep it together. Place in a roasting pan lined with aluminum foil (for easier cleaning afterwards).
  • Bake for about 15–20 minutes. Serve warm.
