This comforting one-pot dish makes a hearty winter meal and doesn’t take long to prepare or cook. If you’re making it for the family, you can choose milder sausages that the kids won’t object to – or spice it up with chilli or garlic sausages if you’re cooking for guests.

Ingredients

  • One sachet of Knorr Gourmet Sausage Casserole Mix
  • 200ml water
  • 450g sausages
  • 250g courgettes, sliced
  • 200g carrots, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced

Method

  • Pre-heat the oven to 200°C, 180°C fan, Gas Mark 6.
  • Tear open the top of the packet and remove and unfold the bag. Peel off the sticker, keeping hold of the blue tie for later. Resting the bag on the work surface add all the ingredients and the seasoning from the bottom of the sachet.
  • Close and tie bag with blue tie approximately 2cm from the top. Supporting the weight of the bag with one hand gently mix until all the ingredients are evenly coated and seasoned. Place in a non-heated ovenproof dish so that the bag is in sideways.
  • Place the dish on the middle shelf of a pre-heated oven for 35 minutes. Ensure there is room for the bag to expand when cooking (bag must not touch the side or top of oven when cooking).
  • When cooked cut open the bag (attention: hot steam), check sausages are cooked and place in a dish to serve.
